Planning your next Alaska or European Expedition? The Express Creek Sled Duffle has been designed as a go-to bag to meet the needs of both a travel/boot bag, and an expedition sled. At the airport baggage check, it will carry the greatest amount of gear while keeping your fees to a minimum. It maximizes the checked bag size (typically 63” L+W+H) and provides great utility at a low weight. Insure that you are getting in all your gear without exceeding baggage weight limits.
The dual flap and buckle closure is easy to use in cold conditions, and allows for overstuffing with 6 compression straps for load control. The burrito style closure eliminates the need for a primary zipper. The bag is built as a single large compartment for carrying large items and includes a smaller zipper pocket. The bag does not have a rigid structure and can be rolled tight for compact storage.
As a sled, the Express Creek provides great functionality in minimalist style. The UHMW running surface provides great durability and glide. Removable aluminum runners help to keep the sled on track in cross slope conditions. Remove them (no tools required) for air travel, or improved glide on flat terrain. Sleeves and pins for pulk-poles provide semi rigid control of the sled so it doesn’t run you over on the downhill.
Poles are not included: We recommend PVC pipe ½” Schedule 40 cut to match your ski length (instructions included) [in 10+ years of pulling sleds we've sent many cliffs, hit lots of trees, and have yet to break a PVC pole]
